PAUL SCHOLES, 17 years and still a LEGEND

Not many know that the foundations of United were laid upon their youth academy. The class of 92' Scholes,Giggs,Beckham,Butt,Neville brothers graduated from the academy, Messi was still in his diapers, Federer didn't even know how to play a backhand, Schumacher was still struggling to win his first race in Formula-1.

Paul Scholes, a man who was one of the best midfielders ever to don the shirt for Manchester United. being bought up in salford, he was excellent in cricket as well as football, but later opted to join the youth team of United.

He was a part of the famous team that won the youth cup, where he played alongside future team mates giggs, beckham, phil neville and gary neville. It was in 1993 that Scholes turned a professional. Oppurtunities at United were hard to come until Mark Hughes made a move to Chelsea in 95-96 season. During this season, Scholes got many oppurtunities and was mainly played as an attacking midfielder. After Roy Keane suffered an injury in 1997, Scholesy was deployed as a central midfielder, a role he excelled to greatest degree.

Scholes was an important member inThe Treble winning squad,98-99. He scored an important goal against Internazionale in UCL quaterfinals. He was bought in as a substitute in the second half during the semi final match against Juventus in which he was booked and eventually missed the final which United defeated Bayern Munich 2-1.

During the summer of 2001, when United signed Veron from Lazio, Scholes was reassigned as a withdrawn striker, just behind Ruud Van Nistelroy. Finally his thirst for UCL glory ended when United defeated Chelsea 6-5 on penalities at Luzhinski Stadium,Mosckow.  On April 22,2009 he went on to make his 600 appearance for United against Portsmouth.

He finallt bought down curtains over a glittering career in which he won 10 BPL titles, 3 FA cups and 2 Champions League titles. On August 5,2011 a testimonial was arranged at Old Trafford against New York Cosmos, in which he captained United for one last time. He opened the scoring with a 25 yard scorcher and finally called it a day. A TRUE RED DEVIL.!!

Dreams, fantasies and Realities

6 years ago, everyone i knew were studying just for the heck of getting good marks, and many of them including myself did achieve it.

fast forward -> 4 years ago, the same people changed a lot ( atleast their mindsets did :P ) and they were carefree about the marks what they were after some time ago. The big thing i noticed in them was they were after ranks. i.e. getting ranks in exams like IIT-JEE,AIEEE etc, which was nothing more than a dream to me :D

these guys ( and gals :P) joined engineering and now, they struggle over aggregates and percentages. ;) and also jobs too.

Presently, getting a government job with a good pay remains a fantasy to many.

All I ever wanted
was to be at your service
but now I'm alone
cause you were here and you're gone

And all I ever wanted
was to feel I had a purpose
but now that's all gone

But if you could give me
just one love
just one life
just one chance to believe in mine
just one love
just one life
you'd bleed for me
and I didn't dare to notice you
now I'm stuck
out on a line.
Bleed for me
I didn't care to be with you
now you're stuck in my mind

All I ever wanted
was to be what you needed
cause something so strong
it could never be wrong.
And all I can promise
is to say what I'm feeling
We've made it so long

But if you could give me
just one love
just one life
just one chance to believe in mine
just one love
just one life
you'd bleed for me
and I didn't dare to notice you
now I'm stuck
out on a line.
You'd bleed for me
I didn't care to be with you
now you're stuck in my mind

Just one love in my life...
You'd bleed for me
and I didn't dare to notice you
now I'm stuck
out on a line.
Bleed for me
I didn't care to be with you
now you're stuck in my mind

When the door shuts, don’t worry about me
It’s not attention that I want from you
I need you to trust who I’m gonna be
And in everything I’m going to do
Cause I’m not afraid of what I don’t know
For understanding is all that I earn
But what is for sure is I’m going to go
I’m going to live and I’m going to learn

And I know there will be mistakes that I will make
But I know none are worse than chances I don’t take, take

Right before your eyes, I am changing
Changing
You laugh on the inside, I am changing
Changing

When the door shuts, it shuts finally
A new person that I have become
I’ll follow my heart to my destiny
Living in fear and the sorrow is done

There will be no more feeling that I’m all alone
I will surround myself with things that help me grow

Final thoughts

well here i am, wondering whats in store for me in near future. coming to the real part, i must say that my days in hyderabad are numbered, thanks to the awkward postings handed by wipro. but neverthless am not dissapointed with it. this also signals the end of the best period of time, graduation :D

i've been trying to put in my thoughts since a long time for such a post but i was kept aside by the lame training offered by wipro.

well the best part was definitely getting good marks to sign off from college with a bang ;) but i will surely miss bunking classes, roaming in the campus, and most of all play some good football.

well coming to the boring part of my holidays, so called jump start training from wipro really screwed my happiness royally, but the best part was having a good game with cards in the last bench- a good pastime i discovered to bide off time :P

well when the training was completed as per schedule, joining dates finally poured in, with many of my friends being scattered throughout the country, god save them all :p

after all the training, i still wonder what does wipro offer me? thats one question that i failed to find an answer myself :|

No sentimentality? No slush? No tear-jerking farewells and goodbyes?!!

well enough of my ramblings, i really want to leave hyderabad on a positive note, so am really sorry if i ever hurt anyone! :) and special thanks to tarun, shashi, sudhansh, and everyone of onslaught fc, i really had a great time playing with you guys! :) i just wish that we could play one last match some other day :)

adios amigos! :)

10 Things you need to know about Falcao

1. Radamel Falcao Garciacute Zárate was born 10 February 1986 in Santa Marta, Magdalena, Columbia.

2. He plays for Portuguese side FC PORTO as a center forward and helped them to a record treble, scoring 17 goals in 14 matches in Europa League, eclipsing Jurgen Klinsmann's record.

3. He has earned himself the nickname El Tigre, but is usually know by his middle name, Falcao.
4. He started football at Fair Play, a footballing school in Columbia. He then joined the youth team at Club Deportivo Los Millonarios. He was discovered by River Plate at 15, when playing for the Colombian Under-17 side.

5. Before signing a professional contract with River Plate, Falcao had embarked on a journalism degree at Buenos Aires university. Could come in handy should he have to face the British press
.
6. Falcao is nothing if not prolific. He scored two goals on his debut for River Plate's first team, racked up seven in his first seven starts, and to date has scored an awesome 80 goals in just 137 appearances.

7. He missed most of the 2005 season due to a serious knee injury and struggled to regain fitness in 2006 and 2007. Last year, he hit form with a vengeance, becoming River Plate's top scorer with 19 goals from 35 starts in all competitions. And here he is scoring one, and then celebrating with what looks suspiciously like a piece of bread in his mouth.

8. He is named after ex-Brazilian and Roma midfielder, Falcao, widely regarded as one of the best players in Roma's history.
9. His father Radamel Garciacutea played for Columbia, a feat which Falcao has since repeated, with seven starts and two goals.

10) He is a religious man, and leads the church groups 'Locos Por Jesus' and 'Atletas de Cristo'. Christ knows what he'll make of England, then
